Jay was born and raised in Rochester, MN. He graduated from the University of Minnesota, Duluth where he studied Economics and English, and could often be found inside the Champ mascot uniform at sporting events. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Valparaiso, during which time he represented low-income clients in the University’s Tax Clinic, and he actively volunteered on the board for Amnesty International.

Prior to joining Grinde & Dicke P.A., Jay was a Third District Judicial Clerk after which he became an assistant public defender in the State of Alaska. In 2020 Jay moved back to Minnesota and began practicing law in St. Charles until joining Grinde & Dicke in 2023. Jay has successfully represented clients in various areas of law which allows him to spot potential pitfalls and advantages in client’s cases. Jay understands that each case is unique and works to build relationships with each client to help reach a resolution which will achieve the client’s goals.

Outside of practicing law, Jay volunteers as a firefighter for the City of St. Charles. In his free time, he enjoys playing pickleball, trout fishing near Whitewater, and fixing up old vehicles.
